# Subscriptions & Credits

NBot uses a credit-based system to power AI features. Different subscription tiers provide varying amounts of credits, trackers, and update frequency.

Yearly billing is available at a ~17% discount ($99.99/yr for Plus, $199.99/yr for Pro).

## Understanding Credits

Credits power NBot's AI features. Here's what each action costs:

| **Chat Q&A** | 1 credit per message |
| **Tracker Update (Curation Run)** | 2 credits per run |
| **Podcast Generation** | 10 credits per podcast |

### Daily Credits

- All plans receive **20 daily credits**
- Daily credits reset at **midnight UTC** every day
- Daily credits do **not** roll over

### Monthly Credits (Plus & Pro)

- Granted on your billing date each month
- Can roll over up to **50%** of your monthly allocation
- Daily credits are consumed first before monthly credits

## Checking Your Credits

Your current credit balance is displayed:

- In the **navigation bar** (desktop) as a credit counter
- In the **mobile menu** under your profile section
- In **Settings** under the Subscription section

### Insufficient Credits

When you run out of credits:

- Your trackers will skip their next curation run
- You'll see a warning in the credit popover showing how many curations were skipped
- Daily credits will refresh at midnight UTC
- You can upgrade your plan for more monthly credits

## Upgrading Your Plan

1. Go to the **Pricing** page from the navigation
2. Compare plan features and pricing
3. Click **Upgrade** on your preferred plan
4. Complete the payment process via Stripe
5. Your new credits and features are available immediately

## Managing Your Subscription

In **Settings** > **Subscription**, you can:

- View your current plan and renewal date
- Upgrade or downgrade your plan
- Update payment information
- Cancel your subscription
